Wildland Fire Observations is a field tool for recording and sharing wildland fire weather observations. This page explains how to get help with the app.

Note: Wildland Fire Observations is currently in a limited beta test. Some features are still in development and may change, and you may occasionally encounter issues. We welcome your feedback, which helps us improve the app.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reset my password?

On the sign‑in screen, tap Forgot password and enter your email address. We’ll send you a link to set a new password.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

You can send feedback directly from the app under Settings › Feedback, or email us at info@wildlandfireobvs.com. Including a screenshot and your app version helps us diagnose the issue.

The app can’t find my location, or coordinates aren’t tagging.

The app needs location permission to tag where observations are taken. Make sure location access is enabled for Wildland Fire Observations in your device’s Settings. The app uses your location only while you are actively using it (when‑in‑use) and does not track location in the background.

How do I delete my account and my data?

You can delete your account at any time from within the app under Settings › Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and personal data. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Is my data shared with other users?

Observations and incident records you create are treated as shared community data and may be visible to other users. If you delete your account, those records are retained but anonymized, so they are no longer linked to you. See our Privacy Policy for details.
